things we love… comfort

comfort is key.  we’re on our feet for about 14 hours at a wedding.  that’s a lot of time to be spending walking, running, squatting, jumping, climbing, reaching, and dancing.  i realized very early that having a well made, well fit pair of shoes is key.  unfortunately, i’ve completely worn out my favorite shoes (from our trip to spain a few years back).  fortunately for me, my amazing wife feels the same about comfortable shoes (yes, she has a ton of wedding shoes to choose from but this is my blog post today so it’s all about my shoes).  for my birthday this year, she grabbed me a pair of black cole haan shoes.  lucky for me, she wears the same size shoes so it makes it easy for her to buy me shoes.  well, also lucky for me, nike air teamed up with cole haan this year and let me tell you, these babies are all comfort.  the black ones were cool, but every once in a while, you gotta grab a fun pair of shoes too… hence the brown and blue ones.  enjoy.

brian & danny…

when i met brian & danny, they told us that they loved how we capture couple’s emotion, and that is what drew them to us.  well, i think we accomplished that with them in their engagement session and cannot wait to be a part of their wedding later this year.  it is going to be amazing.

we were bouncing off ideas for brian & danny’s session for where to shoot… sinnissippi bike trail, their house, a random park.  and then it hit them.  a friend of theirs has an amazing piece of property on the outskirts of rockford that had a few outbuildings and plenty of open space. and better yet, they spend a lot of time at the house so the location definitely means something to them.  what a perfect spot so show off love.  speaking of love, i want to chat a little bit about the joy of seeing how someone who loves us looks at us when we’re not looking.  think about that for a second.  how do you look at your significant-other when they aren’t looking.  and how do they look at you?  the only way you know is by seeing it.  when danny saw the first picture here of brian looking at him, his response was perfect.  he loved it.  he had never really seen how brian lights up when he looks at danny.  i love it.  i absolutely love brian’s look in the first shot of their engagement session. enjoy.

kayla & andy…

oh so serious… until they saw each other.

we met up with kayla as she was just getting dressed at immanuel lutheran church and she had her game face one.  don’t get me wrong, there was joking and laughing but she just wanted to see andy.  when i met up with andy, he was ready.  he wanted to get to the front of the church and see his beautiful bride coming down the aisle.  once their eyes met, that was it for the seroiusness, it was all smiles from both of them.  it really makes us happy to see couples that are so insanely in love that it just takes over.

after a killer five minute rule and some time outside the church, we headed over to the hoffman house for their reception. the fellowship was great and the dance floor was packed for the entire night.  enjoy.

kiley & tim…

i’m just going to point out a few things about kiley & tim… and then i’ll leave you to enjoying their wedding pictures.  kiley is the little princess that met her prince charming and then they lived happily ever after.  she was smiles from the moment we started shooting her at the salon and continued until we were kicked out of the radisson, way after we still should have all been there.  and once he saw her coming down the aisle, it was all smiles for tim too.  put tim near kiley and it was all over.

kiley’s dad performed the wedding, a beautiful ceremony full of stories and emotion.  we stopped for a minute in downtown beloit where we borrowed a pavilion from some saturday afternoon party guests, asked them to crank up some dance music and we threw a little party of our own.  maybe it was a bit larger then a little party, after all there were 20 attendants… wow!!!  after that we headed to the radisson where everyone danced the night away.  and oh my, could they dance.  congratulations again kiley & tim, we had a blast at your wedding.  enjoy.
